Organic Cayenne Pepper by Hatton Hill Organic. Organically grown in India. Packed in the UK.
Cultivated throughout the tropics and in subtropics, Cayenne pepper is believed to have originated in Cayenne, French Guiana. It has been used as a food for at least 9,000 years by native Americans and was introduced to Europe by Christopher Columbus in the 15th Century. Since then, it has been adopted as a seasoning around the world – with particular enthusiasm on the Indian subcontinent – lending a lovely spicy heat to a wide range of dishes.
PURE, PREMIUM PRODUCT: Hatton Hill Organic’s cayenne pepper is grown by farmers in India, harvested, dried, and ground before being packed right away to seal in all its flavor and distinctive spicy kick.
USES: Cayenne pepper’s rich, earthy color and deliciously warm, smoky aroma make it an appealing addition to many dishes. It’s traditionally been a star ingredient in braises, curries, chilies, and stews. It’s also superb in seasonings for all kinds of meat, poultry, and fish dishes, and can be sprinkled straight onto many other preparations. In fact, cayenne pepper can be added to just about anything where a piquant kick is required – even homemade soft drinks and cocktails! Try cayenne pepper truffles for a treat that delivers a surprising hit of heat that sets off the richness of the chocolate, or make your own hot pepper sauce – the possibilities are almost endless!
SUPER-SPICE: Cayenne pepper is perhaps the most potent source of vitamin A of any spice. It's also a rich source of B-complex vitamins such as niacin, vitamin B6, riboflavin, and thiamine (vitamin B1), and contains very high levels of iron, copper, zinc, potassium, manganese, magnesium, and selenium.
