Organic Barley Flakes

Organic Barley Flakes by Hatton Hill Organic. Organically grown, harvested, dried and packed in the UK.

Barley is native to North Africa and Southeast Asia, and is one of the oldest cultivated grains, having been grown by the Egyptians as long ago as 6,000 BC and the staple grain from which the Hebrews, Greeks, and Romans made bread before wheat and rye gained pre-eminence. It remains an anchor food across much of the world today, thanks to its nutritional value and versatility.

PURE, PREMIUM PRODUCT: Hatton Hill Organic’s barley comes from only the best of the crop grown, harvested, and dried in the UK before it is flattened and rolled into flakes.

USES: Barley is such an endlessly adaptable grain that it’s hard to know where to begin a list of its many uses. In Western cooking, it’s mainly found in soups and stews, lending volume and a satisfyingly chewy texture. It’s also fantastic in risottos, or cooked as a pilaf, in desserts, and prepared as a breakfast cereal.
