Organic Baobab Powder by Hatton Hill Organic. Ground from baobab fruit organically grown, harvested and dried in South Africa. Packed in the UK.
Hatton Hill Organic’s baobab (pronounced “bay-oh-bab”) powder is ground from the fruit of the baobab tree, a majestic species native to much of Africa, Madagascar and Australia that’s known in local lore as “the tree of life”. In Africa, the pulp of the highly nutritious baobab fruit is commonly made into a sherbet-like drink.
PURE, PREMIUM PRODUCT: Our organic baobab powder is produced from baobab fruit grown, dried and ground in South Africa. It boasts a superior, fresh flavour that’s a little sweet and tangy, and almost citrusy, hinting at its high concentration of vitamin C.
USES: Baobab powder’s most obvious use is as a health drink – and what a range of drinks there are that benefit from a dose of it! Add baobab powder to fruit juice, smoothies, milk, soy and nut-milk shakes, and simply to plain water to give them a nutrient-rich zing. Stir it into sauces, salad dressings, ice-cream, desserts, cereals, yoghurt and even soups. Bake it into cakes, cookies, breads, and pastries. And sprinkle it onto pancakes or anything else to which its flavour will add some get-up-and-go.
TREE OF LIFE: Baobab powder is one of the world’s most nutrient-rich foods, with just two tablespoons containing one-third of your daily requirement of vitamin C. It also boasts one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants of any fruit, and it’s loaded with calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium. Baobab fruit is composed of 50 percent dietary fibre.
