Organic Sun Dried Raisins by Hatton Hill Organic. Organically grown, harvested and dried in Turkey. Packed in the UK.
Raisins are dried white grapes, although in the US the term "raisin" is used to refer to several varieties of dried grapes, most commonly sultanas. Raisins are darker than sultanas, they have a denser texture, and they’re not as juicy, which makes them good for soaking up other flavours (brandy, Amaretto, and other flavoured alcohols are particularly popular) before cooking.
Raisins, jokingly known as "nature's candy", are an exceptional source of energy thanks to their high natural sugar content, and a ready source of minerals, in particular copper and phytonutrients – naturally occurring plant compounds that have antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.
Aside from being super-snackable right out of the bag, our organic sun dried raisins can be used in a variety of culinary settings, from breakfasts to savoury main courses to desserts and pretty much everything in between. Sprinkle them onto breakfast cereals to give them some yummy get-up-and-go, add them to trail mix or recipes for flapjacks and energy bars, mix them into ice-cream and yoghurt, and bake them into cookies, cakes, muffins and more (bread-and-butter pudding with cinnamon and a generous splash of rum, anyone?). Try tossing our organic raisins into salads to give them a sweet counterpoint, into rice dishes such as pilafs (a well-established tradition in many parts of the world), and even into pasta!
