Organic Pecan Pieces

Organic Pecan Pieces by Hatton Hill Organic. Organically grown, harvested and dried in South Africa. Packed in the UK.

Pecan nuts come from a species of hickory tree that's native to the southern United States and northern Mexico. They have long been regarded as a delicacy by Native Americans, and these days they're immensely popular in the US, thanks to their slightly sweet, buttery flavour and mildly floral, foresty aroma.

Apart from being absolutely delicious and incredibly versatile, pecans contain more antioxidants than any other tree nut, and they're packed with vitamins and minerals such as manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium.

Probably the best-known dish that uses these fabulous nuts is pecan pie, for which every true fan has their own special recipe, but the range of uses for pecan nuts in sweet treats is limited only by your imagination. Try our organic pecan pieces candied (coat them in a mix of butter, sugar, cinnamon and allspice and roast them gently in the oven), bake them into biscuits, breads, brownies, cakes, muffins and tarts, use them to top cheesecakes and other dessert delights, try combining them with pistachios to make your own special baklava, add them to recipes for fudge, caramel and other naughty-but-nice indulgences, top sticky buns and pastries with them... We could go on...

Pecans are also a wonderful ingredient in savoury dishes. Use our organic pecan pieces to top any number of entrées and main courses, such as maple sauce pork chops, soups and casseroles, and almost any salad you feel like creating. Crust fish, chicken or meat with them prior to cooking, give them some extra snacky zing by roasting them with a mix of spices such as chilli, salt and a little oil, use them in stuffings for roasted vegetables (the earthy flavour of mushrooms pairs particularly well with pecans' lovely taste and texture), try whipping up a pecan pesto with kale, parmesan cheese and garlic, incorporate them into a wide range of dips (dips based on cream cheese work especially well), or, to give your breakfast cereal a delicious, nutritious boost, just toss a handful of our organic pecan pieces into it.

Pecan, which grows in temperate climate regions, attracts attention with its rich nutritional value.
The homeland of pecans is the North American continent. It is grown especially in the southern states of the USA and Mexico. Pecan cultivation spread after the 19th century.

Pecans are particularly recommended in a healthy diet because they contain more antioxidants than any other nuts. Of course, this benefit should not be calculated by the weight of the walnut, but by the portion. A handful of walnuts is very satisfying in terms of nutritional value; Our %100 organic Pecan pieces contain the optimum amount of vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and antioxidants necessary for the human body. Our pecan pieces are %100 organic and vegan & vegetarian.

Packed on premises that handle celery, cereals containing gluten, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, sulphur dioxide and sulphites, and tree nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamias).
