Cacao liquor has nothing to do with liquor in the sense that it involves or contains alcohol – it doesn't. Like the cacao beans from which it's made, it contains both cacao solids and cacao butter in roughly equal measure. It's essentially a single-ingredient chocolate ground from the seeds of cacao, to which nothing is added. Think of it as simply the darkest, most intense form of chocolate available and you've got the idea.

Fantastic and flavoursome in recipes for homemade chocolate, our organic cacao liquor is also a wonderful ingredient for flavouring ice cream, ganaches, pralines and other preparations to give them a deeper, darker colour and a more intense cacao taste. It's unsurpassed as an addition to brownies (get ready for your most chocolatey ever!), and brilliant in baking overall when you're looking for a real depth of chocolate flavour.

Natural Cocoa Liquor (cocoa mass) is a completely unadulterated, natural and very valuable liquid cocoa mass obtained by mechanical processes such as roasting and grinding without causing any change in the components of cocoa beans.

The name liquor is not used in the sense of an alcoholic substance, but in the sense of melted solid-liquid.
