For cosy comfort food with a high quotient of nutrients, fibre and low-fat yumminess, it's hard to beat a hearty vegetable soup, and our organic broth mix is just the ticket for creating delicious, nutritious one-pot meals that'll have even your kids coming back for seconds.

Simply sauté some chopped onion and garlic in a generously sized pot, add our organic broth mix and some stock, toss in a few chopped vegetables (celery and carrots are perennial favourites), scatter some herbs (oregano, thyme, bay leaves and the other usual suspects always work wonderfully), perhaps season with a splash of Worcester sauce (or, indeed, any other condiments that take your fancy – some cooks swear by a pinch of curry powder) and simmer gently for an hour or so until the barley, lentils, split peas and mung beans are soft but not mushy. Serve with chunks of crusty bread and you've got a stupendously simple and sumptuous meal! Spoon a little sour cream on top if you're feeling indulgent and dig in!
