Amla powder is made from the ground leaves of the Indian gooseberry. The fruit is used in pickles and in cooking, and the powder has been a remedy in traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. It’s widely used in South Asia mixed into a paste with oil, milk or water as a hair mask, but it can also be consumed as a supplement in smoothies, teas and other drinks.
