Quince Leaves by Hatton Hill. Grown, harvested and dried in Turkey. Packed in the UK.
The birthplace of the quince plant is understood to be Iran, although it grows throughout the Caucasus and Central Asia and is now found worldwide. The ancient Romans and Greeks treated the plant with great reverence as a symbol of fertility and love.
Quince leaves have long played a role in traditional medicine, and are believed to have therapeutic properties that help to address a range of health conditions.
The most popular way to prepare quince leaves is to make an infusion from them: simply steep them in boiled water and drink the tea they produce. They can also be made into a tincture with the addition of alcohol such as vodka, for example: steep crushed quince leaves in a dark place for 10 days and use as required.
