Jujubes (Red Dates)

Size :

Jujubes (Red Dates) by Hatton Hill. Grown, harvested and dried in Turkey. Packed in the UK.

The jujube fruit, also known as a red date and a Chinese date, is native to East and South, Asia, but has become popular around the world and has been hailed as something of a superfood.

These little fruits are jam-packed with flavonoids, phenols and antioxidants, vitamin C, manganese and iron, and 18 out of the 24 important amino acids that are essential to the formation of more than 50,000 proteins found in the human body.

Our jujubes are soft and chewy, and have a naturally sweet, aromatic flavour. They're a moreish snack and a versatile ingredient in a wide range of preparations. Use them to sweeten porridge, add them to smoothies, include them in mixes for baking cakes, muffins, energy balls and more. You can also use them in cooking in place of dried apples, dates and goji berries.

In East Asia, jujubes are steeped in hot water to make a sweet tea and used as an ingredient in nourishing soups. They can also be found in desserts and even in liqueurs.
