Organic Ground Ceylon Cinnamon by Hatton Hill Organic. Ground cinnamon organically grown, harvested and dried in Sri Lanka. Packed in the UK.
Hatton Hill Organic’s organic ground Ceylon cinnamon comes from the inner bark of the Cinnamomum verum (true cinnamon) tree, native to Sri Lanka, and is prized for its delicate flavour and aroma. It’s regarded as superior to the ground cinnamon typically found on supermarket shelves, which is sourced from cassia trees in China and parts of Southeast Asia.
USES: Our organic Ceylon cinnamon is hugely versatile, not only in the sweet dishes that spring to mind when most people think of its uses, but also in a wide range of savoury preparations where a sweet-spicy kick is exactly what’s required. It immediately adds an aromatic and flavoursome note to baked goods such as muffins, cakes, biscuits and breads – not to mention doughnuts and pancakes. And it pairs like no other spice with cooked apples in pies, tarts and more – and also with other fruits (try baked grapefruit topped with a sugar and cinnamon mix, or sprinkle it on fruit salads). Some savoury dishes to which our cinnamon gives a mouth-watering aromatic twist include Moroccan-style tagines, chicken shawarmas, grain dishes such as pilafs and roasted vegetables (especially vegetables with a slightly sweet note, such as pumpkin and squash). And don’t forget soups – carrot, pumpkin, lentil and sweet potato all love a dash of cinnamon. Spice up your life with Hatton Hill Organic’s organic ground Ceylon cinnamon!
